Designing Point-of-Purchase Displays
-
Books & Company needed point-of-purchase and front-of-house displays that could do two things at once: feel like the warmth and browsability of an independent bookstore, and the casual, inviting energy of a coffee shop. The physical materials — shelving, signage, and displays — needed to reflect that blended identity rather than feeling like a generic retail fixture.

As a freelance designer, I designed 3D models for the physical materials used to display books at point-of-purchase and front-of-house locations throughout the store.
Designed 3D models of retail display fixtures using SketchUp
Balanced the visual language of a bookstore — warm, tactile, inviting — with the casual, social feel of a coffee shop environment
Designed shelving, signage, and point-of-purchase displays as a cohesive physical system rather than standalone pieces

This project is an early example of designing physical, spatial experiences rather than purely digital or print work — translating a brand feeling into 3D, real-world retail fixtures. It reflects the range that has carried through the rest of my career: moving comfortably between digital product design, print, branding, and physical/spatial design depending on what a project actually needs.
