Jordan Stine
I've spent the last 15+ years designing digital products — most of that time at Amplify Education, where I started in production design and worked my way up to Product Design Director, leading teams across the Amplify Math Suite and Amplify Science.
Along the way I've designed nearly everything a digital education product needs: student activity players, teacher reporting and insights tools, cross-product login and account infrastructure, design systems that hold together suites of products, and interactive science simulations built in tight sprints with engineering. I've led research, run workshops with product leadership, built and mentored design teams, and done the unglamorous work of mapping a user journey end to end to find out where it breaks.
What I care about most is clarity — making complex systems make sense, both to the people using them and the people building them. I like solving problems that don't have an obvious answer yet, and I like bringing other designers along with me when I find one.
Outside of product design, I co-created Space Cadets Radio with a longtime collaborator. I designed the studio's brand identity from scratch and continue to advise on its visual direction — covering everything from the website to poster art to ongoing marketing for our radio drama. I've also written original fiction set in that universe, including a novella and a short story.
When I'm not designing, I'm probably birding, hiking, building something out of Legos, or reading. I'm based in Alabama, working remotely, and always interested in a good conversation about design, story, or both.
What I’m Looking For
I'm exploring Senior/Principal Product Designer, Design Director, and Design Systems roles — ideally somewhere that values thoughtful, research-driven design and gives me room to both build systems and mentor people. Edtech is home turf, but I'm open to wherever the right problem is.
