Amplify Science Experience
Building a repeatable practice for surfacing product gaps across Math and Science.

After leading the end-to-end user journey and gap analysis work for the Amplify Math Suite, I applied the same practice to Amplify Science as I transitioned into building out that design team in 2025.
The method was consistent across both products: map the full user journey, identify where the experience broke down or felt disjointed, and translate those gaps into concrete product requirements through workshops with leadership. For Math, this meant working within the platform's parent/child content authoring constraints across three merged products. For Science, it surfaced two specific, previously unaddressed problems: the Activity Landing Page (ALP) experience needed a redesign, and teachers needed more flexibility within Amplify Classroom than the current platform allowed.
Unlike Math — where the constraints were already known — the Science gap analysis is what found these problems in the first place.

I built and applied a consistent end-to-end user journey and gap-analysis practice across both Amplify Math and Amplify Science — mapping the full teacher and student experience, identifying friction points, and using that analysis as the foundation for product requirements.
Running this process against Science surfaced two major, previously unidentified problems: gaps in the ALP experience, and a lack of flexibility in how teachers could use Amplify Classroom. I led the initial design exploration and user research for both.
The needs and findings were documented and submitted to the Platform team, who picked up the resulting work as part of their roadmap for platform-level improvements.

Claude — used during the outline phase of the user journey work to brainstorm structure and stress-test gaps in the journey mapping
Cursor — used to turn Science mockups into multiple interactive prototypes for faster iteration and stakeholder review
Figma Make — used during the prototyping phase of the Flexibility in Amplify Classroom design work

The user journey and gap-analysis practice — first built for the Math Suite launch — proved repeatable and valuable enough to apply to an entirely different product line. The Science work it surfaced (ALP redesign and Classroom flexibility) was substantial enough to be picked up directly by the Platform team as roadmap work, demonstrating that design-led research can directly shape platform-level investment decisions.

ALP Redesign and Science Lesson Experience
Led the redesign of the Activity Landing Page (ALP) experience for Science, driving research, design exploration, and prototyping to resolve gaps surfaced during journey mapping.
Designed the end-to-end digital lesson experience for Amplify Science, including interactive simulations, teacher orchestration tools, and student-facing activities across multiple grade bands.
